How does Sculptra work?

Sculptra’s main component is an alpha hydroxy acid called poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA). It is safe, synthetic (artificially created), biocompatible (can be used harmlessly in the body), biodegradable (able to be broken down in the body) and long-lasting.

Injectable PLLA-the main component of Sculptra® begins working within the deep dermis to replace lost collagen and reinforce skin structure.

RESTORE

As micro particles of PLLA are absorbed, a collagen framework is provided to gradually restore volume.

REFINE

This results in the smoothing out of shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds for a more refined appearance that can last more than 2 years.

Sculptra’s effects are not immediate and improvement in skin volume occurs gradually after approximately 6 weeks. Several treatments are needed for best results. The results of Sculptra® vary from patient to patient.
